How to configure entities for Quick Search!

I have successfully setup and configured Global Quick Search but am having some issues searching. When I click the Global Quick Search icon on the ribbon and search for something I receive the error "No entities configured for Quick Search. Go to 'Global Search Config' entity and add entities that needs Quick Search."

I went under 'Customize The System' > 'Global Quick Search Config' and selected the service checkbox since I would like search cases and email activities attached to cases.

Am I missing something? Where else should I configure this?

Nevermind, I managed to fix it and now I can search, one question, when a keyword is type for example 'test' does it only return results starting with 'test'. I tried using the wildcard *test and it seems to take a really long time. Is the use of wildcards ok or?

Also does the search also go through email descriptions? Or just the subjects?
